Trixie Munyama from Namibia and Christian Etongo from Cameroon present a multidisciplinary installation that aims to explore Namibia’s colonial past that in many ways is different and similar to those of other independent African states.
Hidden aims to address and stimulate conversation regarding many aspects of Namibia’s colonial past that remain present and affect the daily lives of individuals but are hardly spoken of or questioned.
Produced in collaboration with the Da Mai Dance ensemble.
Hidden is held under the Burden of Memory project that facilitated the collaboration between creatives across the continent for them to confront the colonial past of their countries and produce an artistic installation.
Hidden follows other multidisciplinary installations including “The Mourning” and “The Mourning Citizen” that were also formulated in relation to Namibia’s colonial past.
*Social distancing is observed and adhered to during the deliverance of this open installation.
